I am Shannon Goodhead, a visual artist based in Northern British Columbia. My paintings explore the meeting place of fluid abstraction and impressionist detail. They are inspired by mountains, skies, and the untamed beauty of the natural world, along with the outdoor rhythms of northern life in all its forms.
Artist Statement
I am Shannon Goodhead, a visual artist based in Northern British Columbia. My paintings explore the meeting place of fluid abstraction and impressionist detail. Through the spontaneous movement of acrylic pours layered with natural imagery, I capture the balance between chaos and calm, motion and stillness.
Each piece reflects my fascination with the dreamlike qualities of colour and the quiet magic found in the natural world. Mountains, skies, and wildlife emerge from swirling backdrops, echoing the unpredictability of nature and the harmony hidden within it.
Background
I studied Fine Art and Fine Art History at the University of Toronto, graduating with honours. My experience as a certified teacher and community artist has deepened my love for making art accessible and for celebrating creativity in all its forms. Over the years, I’ve led workshops, collaborated on murals, and brought people together through shared creative experiences but my personal practice always returns to painting.
Exhibitions & Current Focus
My work has been shown in community galleries and local exhibitions, and I am currently preparing for my upcoming show in the Mini Gallery at the Smithers Art Gallery (February–March 2026). Alongside original paintings, I now offer fine art prints and a selection of Artful Goods designed to carry my artwork into everyday life.
Invitation
I invite you to explore my gallery and shop, discover the stories within each painting, and find a piece that resonates with your own sense of wonder.
